Sex slavery case in Melbourne
25 April 2009 - 8:01pm
The case Ho, Ho, Hoo and Rahardjo is currently being prosecuted in the Supreme Court of Victoria. The men are accused of enslaving Thai women in two brothels in Melbourne. It is alleged the women were each forced to serve between 650 and 750 'clients' in the brothels to pay the traffickers $90,000, had their freedom of movement severely curtailed, were constantly under surveillance, and had their passports confiscated. The women were paid only $5 per client and were required to stay at the brothels after they had completed 650-750 clients.
